I’m high-strung and impatient and I don’t delegate well. While these characteristics make me highly efficient at work, they make me a real bitch at home so I’m making a conscious effort to try and calm myself down.

crystal singing bowlI just learned about Crystal Singing Bowls, which is a type of inverted bell that produces a very pure and peaceful tune when the sides and rim vibrate. They are used all through Asian for medication and relaxation and are produce different sounds depending on size.

Silver Sky Imports carries hand crafted items from Tibet and Nepal, and the singing bowls are no exception – made from 99.9% pure quartz crystal and made with care by local craftsman.

I think I feel more relaxed just knowing such a thing exists and I can see how the sound and repetition can help you to concentrate and meditate.

We love going to Vegas, but I think we overstayed our welcome this trip. After five days, we were sick of walking, scrounging for lounge chairs by the pool, and bad dance music. We were definitely over the scene at Flamingo and ready to go home! I think we’ll be seeking something a little more low-key next time.

Edit: I totally prematurely posted, so here’s some more details…

The old Vegas signs that you see in the pictures are from our tour of the Neon Graveyard, which I highly recommend visiting if you’re ever in Las Vegas. They have the original Stardust, Caesars, and Binions signs, plus others from movies and television. They are also in the process of refurbishing 30+ neon signs that will be displayed along Freemont Street in a “cruising” district.

I also collected over 250 nudie cards from one walk up and down the strip to cheers of “good for you” from the outstanding fellows flipping cards. I started seeing how many I could collect few years ago and this was by far my most lucrative trip. I did throw them away before we left for home.

Oh…and after 7 trips to Las Vegas, I finally played Keno and I don’t like it. Mainly because I didn’t win.

azaleaI’ve worn some truly awful bridesmaid dresses in my day (a pale purple satin dress with spaghetti straps and sequin isn’t particularly flattering on a plus-sized girl) so when Mike and I eloped, all of my friends got off easy because I was prepared to choose the most hideous dresses I could find for them as retribution.

Little did I know that bridesmaid dresses can actually be pretty! My friends obviously didn’t know that either judging by the monstrosities they put me in.

You won’t be lying when you tell your bridesmaids that their dresses Best Bridal Dresses can be worn over and over again. Just look at that cute little fuchsia number? Don’t tell me you couldn’t wear that to a holiday or cocktail party. With a cute cardigan, I bet you could even wear it to the office!

Sorry I’ve been MIA, but I wanted to build-up to this truly awesome and sappy post, which rarely happens! Enjoy!

No horrible purple bridesmaid dresses. No expensive open bar. No boring rehearsal dinner. Just a $60 wedding dress and In-N-Out Burger to celebrate.

We eloped in Vegas two years ago, and here we are again, celebrating our anniversary in Sin City. Now…what do to that will top eloping? Matching tattoos? Piercings? Quitting our day jobs to become a Vegas showgirl and a black jack dealer? Nah…we’re too much of an old married couple for that razzmatazz.

Happy Anniversary, Mike. <3

P.S. $10 says Mike teared up during the video.
