Cruising Along

Even if the warm weather isn’t consistent, which it never is during a Chicago April, it is spring in our household. We’ve been spending a lot of time outside, opening up all the windows, and coming out of our winter funk.

beachJust last weekend, we had a fantastic afternoon at the Indiana Dunes, which put us in the mood to buy new bikes. We saw many couples peddling along the shore line and up and down the pier, and we’d love to enjoy a leisurely ride at the dunes with beach cruisers! We may even have to invest in a little basket so our dog can ride along!

XYZ Bikes has women and men beach cruisers in a variety of colors and styles for around $100 each! The women’s vanilla beach cruiser puts me in a good mood just looking at it, and I’d love to snazz it up with some decals! XYZ Bikes sells quality beach cruisers at an affordable price, which are easy to assemble and will bring many summers of enjoyment.

yellow beach cruiserYou don’t have to live near the beach to ride a beach cruiser. They are great for leisurely rides anywhere and XYZ Bikes has been kind enough to extend coupon code 5OFFXPP for $5 off any beach cruiser! Most orders ship the same day, so if you order now, you’ll be cruising by next weekend!

You are NOT the father

I’m even more disgusted and disheartened than before.

not the father

13-year old Alfie Patten is NOT the father of baby Maisie, which means that 15-year old Chantelle Stedman was having unprotected sex with multiple partners. That number will certainly be revealed as they search to determine who the real father is.

My advice to Alfie…keep your pecker in your pants on the playground and be thankful you didn’t get an STD.

GIVEAWAY Flip-Flop Ready with TriDerma

AND OUR WINNERS ARE…Connie and Midwest Mommy! Congratulations! You’ll be flip-flop ready in no time!

According to my fashion calendar, April is the start of flip-flop season. Unfortunately, I didn’t plan ahead and my feet were not flip-flop ready until I had the opportunity to try TriDerma MD Extreme Dryness Plus and Intense Fast Healing cream.

Extreme Dryness The heel of my right foot was so dry and cracked, I was too embarrassed to go for a pedicure, so I started applying the Intense Fast Healing cream which helps heal cuts, scrapes, rashes and burns. After one day, my heel was noticeably softer and after two days the cracks started healing. My elbows were dry and itchy, so I tried the Extreme Dryness Plus cream after my shower, and my elbows were immediately soft and smooth. I also tried a sample of the Facial Redness Repair which didn’t disappoint, either.intense fast healing new

All the TriDerma products that I tried were amazingly thick and creamy without being heavy or greasy. The lotions absorbed immediately while still moisturizing all day. I was also extremely pleased that there was no scent to any of the products. The secret to all the TriDerma products is the virgin aloe vera gel which fights bacteria and infection, relieves pain, and is a natural anti-inflammatory.

Now it’s your turn to get flip-flop ready. TriDerma has offered to send two readers a full-size tube of Extreme Dryness Plus which is great for feet, elbows, knees and wherever else needs moisturized. There’s only one way to enter. Leave a comment and tell me if you’re flip-flop ready or not!

There’s not much fine print…Entries will be accepted until midnight, April 4, 2009. Winners will be chosen at random and announced on April 5, 2009. Winners will be contacted by email and/or Twitter and will have 48 hours to respond. Please use your real first name and a valid email address when entering. I am not responsible for incorrect contact information. Prize will be shipped directly from TriDerma.

MONIKER custom tailored men’s clothing

Even though Mike slums it in hoodies and cargo pants most days, he loves to get dressed up. He always wants nice shoes and dress shirts. I don’t know where he thinks we’re going, but he wants to be ready incase we’re ever invited to a fancy dinner.

moniker shirtI know he would absolutely love the styles available at MONIKER, because they are completely customizable to his picky tastes. Casual, business, and dress shirts are tailor made with different options for cuffs, pockets, collars and fabrics. I spent a few minutes designing a shirt that I think Mike would look quite suave in!

I absolutely love that MONIKER is completely transparent about their manufacturing and setup costs and that 10% of their company equity is invested in efforts to end poverty.

MONIKER gets clothes, they get the web, and they get responsible corporate citizenship.

Mother Nature is a Bitch

Snow in March is always a bitch. You get your hopes up that spring is finally here thanks to a few warm days that allow you the pleasure of wearing flip-flops for the first time in six months, and then the rain starts and before you know it, the temperatures drop and the snowflakes are flying.

Since Sunday brought the trifecta of shitty spring weather (rain, snow, and wind – just lovely) I didn’t change out of my pajamas and discovered a few things while lounging around the house.

  • One serving of O-ke Doke popcorn only has 11 carbs.
  • I can’t eat only one serving of O-ke Doke popcorn.
  • America’s Funniest Home Videos is funny.
  • It Sucked and Then I Cried were my sentiments exactly after spending $16 on that awful book.
  • Sweat pants would make perfectly acceptable work attire as long as they don’t have elastic around the ankles.
  • Really crappy bloggers are being paid really good money to review products and I could do a way better job for half the money (PR peeps – take note) and mean what I say.
  • The best time to go grocery shopping is 7 am on a Sunday, before the church crowd hits and you have to protect your ankles from those annoying miniature kids carts.
