Four Foods on Friday!

FunCraftsRecipeAdI’m late for Four Foods on Friday! But don’t start any drug treatment rumors because I have a good excuse. I had dinner with my parents last night. Very fitting, huh?

1. How do you make chicken salad?

I don’t. I’m more of a tuna girl, but my mom just gave me a little lunch pack of chicken salad with cranberries and crackers to try. What a coincidence!

2. Fast food chicken. What fast food restaurant makes the best chicken?

I can’t remember the last time we ate fast food fried chicken, but once in a blue moon we’ll buy a chicken dinner from our local grocery store, and it is so good. They actually pump the smell into the parking lot so you can smell it when you drive by!

3. What’s your favorite way to eat chicken?

Baked! I sound much healthier during FFoF than I really am!

One of my favorite chicken recipes came from Talina. It is roaster chicken baked in a salt cocoon and it is fabulous and not nearly as difficult or messy as it sounds. You can read about the first time I made Talina’s chicken (because that’s what we refer to it as in our house) here.

  1. We went out to dinner last night also.
    Thanks for playing FFOF!
    Stumbled.

  2. I had KFC for lunch yesterday! It was great!

  3. Holy crap! That’s salt? I thought the chicken had frostbite!

  4. ake - It looks crazy, but it is fabulous! You slam the pan against the counter, and the salt cracks and you throw it away in pieces. The chicken isn’t salty or crusty or anything! Just delicious!

  5. I imagine that the salt keeps all the moisture in the chicken, right?

  6. Awe, you call it Talina’s chicken? I feel special!

It is super yummy huh? We never finish all th meat when we make this so we make cheese crisp with chicken the next day and later in the week I’ll boil th carcass down, make chicken broth and chicken and dumplings. Yum, chicken is good!

    Glad you like the recipe!
