When I was in college, my roommate, Stacie, and I used to take bike rides all the time. I admit that it was primarily a social event. We would bike from one dorm or apartment to another visiting friends and grabbing dinner, but exercise is exercise and our regular route was about 15 miles round-trip.
I remember that Stacie had a bike that she picked up on sale at Wal-mart and I had a bike that I got free from an employee promotion at my summer job, so we weren’t exactly riding in style on lowrider bicycles in fun colors. I don’t even think we bothered to chain them up when we weren’t riding and I know they sat on our balcony in the snow all winter and were a little rusted by spring, but I did buy handlebar streamers in pink and purple to try to make mine a little cuter!
If I were to get a new bike now, I would ditch the boy’s 10 speed in a hot second for a beach cruiser from CruiserStyle.com.
