Four Foods on Friday
![]()
I was hoping that Four Foods on Friday would be about pies this week since it is Pi Day, but I think I’m the only math geek in the crowd.
1. What’s your favorite fruit and how do you like to eat it?
I love watermelon, but I rarely buy it because it is so messy. My mom always used to cut watermelon outside on the patio table and then hose the whole thing off. Come to think of it, she probably hosed us down after eating watermelon, too.
2. What is the one spice in your kitchen you use more than any other?
Probably garlic salt. I put it on meat and veggies, in tomato juice, and make lots of garlic bread.
3. Pudding. Instant, stovetop or premade?
Premade. I hate the skin that homemade pudding gets on top.
Ick.
4. Share a recipe using potatoes.
The only potatoes we eat are the ones that come wrapped in plastic and you stick in the microwave for three minutes. I never really think to add a potato dish to dinner, but my mom does make a killer pierogi casserole for family meals.

I have NEVER seen those potatoes before! What will they come up with next?!
On another note: I love you long time. You know why.
I don’t know too many dishes I cook without using garlic salt!
Garlic salt? Yum, sounds interesting. Do you grate garlic into salt or is it something that comes in a bottle?
Thanks for playing Four Foods on Friday.
Stumbled.
[...] Corrin shared her Mom’s recipe for pierogi casserole. She buys premade pudding. She was recentkly given a terrific early birthday present out of fear she’d self gift herself before the big day. [...]
Laurie - those potatoes are awesome and they wrap sweet potatoes the same way. A minute or two in the microwave and they taste great.
Lynne - I add garlic salt to just about everything and buy a big bottle of it once every month or two.
Chili - it comes kind of like seasoning salt in a big bottle in the spice aisle. Its great stuff. You need to get some!
Potatoes come wrapped in plastic? That’s a new one on me. The skin off the pudding or jello is the best part. It’s all chewy
I have never seen those potatoes. I must get out more often!
Blueyes - you just made me gag a little bit! Chewy skin? EW!
Karen - the sweet potatoes are the best!
wow! i didn’t know sweet potatoes are wrapped like that too..
i hope we have those here.. peeling sweet potatoes takes me ages..
Val - the sweet potatoes aren’t peeled, but as soon as they cook the peel slides right off!
ah!
and it’s really easy to peel them off.. right? here.. we boil sweet potatoes.. (if we want).. and peeling doesn’t take me ages anymore.. I guess I was thinking of the time I had to peel them to make fried sweet potatoes.. they are yummmy!!
