Four Foods on Friday!

4 foods fridayI really look forward to participating in Four Foods on Friday! I think this is my fourth Friday and I have it programmed into my Palm with the rest of my favorite memes.

1. What is your favorite kind of cheese for snacking?

I love cheese. The stinkier the better. I am quite loyal to sharp cheddar, though. On sandwiches, in mac & cheese, on top of eggs, or just for snacking, I think it’s the most versatile of the cheeses.

2. What is your favorite kind of jelly?

We are a house divided. I am strictly strawberry, and Mike will settle for nothing less than grape.

3. Yogurt. Regular or custard style?

Regular. Yogurt reminds me of snot as it is, no need to make it thick and creamy.

4. Share a recipe for a stew or soup.

I just made homemade chicken soup, and I was quite proud of myself! I don’t know if it is a recipe, because I don’t use exact measurements, but it is easy to make!

Boil chicken in a big pot of water and skim off the fat to make the stock. When chicken is cooked, take out to cool and shred. Add bullion, salt, pepper, parsley, onion salt, garlic salt, and whatever other spices you likepasta acinidipepe to the chicken stock. Throw in carrots, onions, celery (I know I’ve made my celery hate clear, but they disintergrate into nothingness, so I allow them in chicken soup), and shredded chicken. Simmer until veggies are soft.

I like to add frog eye noodles (acini di pepe) to my soup, too!
