Help me out, Cesar…
I consulted Cesar Millan this morning. Actually, I submitted a question to his website and am crossing my fingers that he answers.
Ollie has slept in the gated kitchen since he first came home. The first couple months he didn’t make a peep, then we hit a few weeks where he whined but I never went to him and he got over it, and then he was fine for another month or so.
Now Ollie has started barking and crying at night. In the past two weeks, I’ve spent three nights on the couch with him becuase he won’t stop barking (I’ll give him a pass on one of those, because he was super sick and at the emergency vet the next morning).
I’ll let him bark and cry for a good long while, but I live in an apartment building, and that’s just rude, so I eventually have to let him out of the kitchen.
I think he’s gotten used to napping on the couch in a heap of blankets and the kitchen doesn’t look so appealing anymore. Do I let him bark and make enemies in our building? Do I let him roam free and hope he doesn’t eat my couch? Do I throw him in bed with me and call it a done deal?
Help us, Cesar!

ollie just wants to sleep somewhere comfy! …as appealing as you may think the pile of towels is in the kitchen, i bet he’d beg to differ.
